Swede And Czech

I've learned in my many meetings that the outside looks of guys (and there are some hotties in recovery - I wonder if its because we're not drinking and using anymore) often hide some pretty serious things going on.

One of the things I do now is close my eyes in meetings. It makes me think about what is being said, rather than who is saying it.

Great blog, btw.

I'm a cross-over addict that is at a point where I'm straddling the choice to be sober, but really, after reading things like this, and feeling the way I've felt trying to stay away from drugs and alcohol, I have sincere doubts if sobriety is worth it. I get very frustrated with being miserable either way, and I'm someone that does all the things like eat well, meditate, and exercise. I can't imagine spending twelve years sober and still feeling horrible every day. If I were you, I would have liked to ask that guy what makes him think it's worth it after all this time.
